US health insurance: still a bad deal

Further evidence that a national health system is the way to go.

this is a lot like the problem where people, even those who have health insurance, won't get treated for conditions they know they have because it's better to deal with the untreated condition than to have the black mark on their medical records.

yeah, it's analogous to car insurance, where you don't report small accidents or problems because it'll cost you so much in new insurance. This is based partly on the knowledge that you can always just call the car totaled - it'll only lose you max the replacement cost.

Problem is, your body doesn't have a replacement cost.
